Fokker F-100
The Fokker 100, derived from the Fokker 28 Mk 4000, began service with Swissair in February, 1988. Fokker had begun development of the F100 in 1983 and its first flight was in November, 1986. Compared to the earlier F28, the F100 had longer wings, a longer fuselage that could now seat 107 to 122 people (instead of 85 in the F28) and a "glass" cockpit.  American Airlines has purchased 75 Fokker 100s and other major airlines use them too. USAir (now US Airways) flies 40 F100s and Korean Air flies 12.
