Convair CV-990
The CV-990A was the last commercial aircraft to be built by Convair/General Dynamics. First flown in January, 1961 the 990 was a9 ft 10.5 in stretch of the earlier 880. Introduced into a market dominated by the 707 and DC-8, the 139 passenger 990A didn't stand a chance and only 37 were produced, going into service primarily with American Airlines and Swissair. A unique feature of this aircraft is the large anti-shock fairings mounted on the trailing edge of the wing.
